I’ve been on a food journey to try as many new restaurants and food scenes as I could possibly. My younger brother, who eats out at least 5 days out of the week chose this place. I’m assuming he’s been here before, so I trusted that it would be a pretty decent experience. I’m usually not picky when it comes to eating but sports bars aren’t really my thing. Due to them being a sports bar I assumed they would have good drinks and yes, they had good drinks.
To start, when we walked (around 5:30) the restaurant was kinda empty, but it was a weekday and people were still at work. We were also greeted by a sign that said “please seat yourself “. I enjoy places that give you this option because sometimes the hosts don’t always seat you in a good spot, whether it be by kids, blasting AC, or even by the entrance.
After we sat, we were greeted by our server and given menus. She then proceeded to ask for our drink order, I ordered a water and asked her her favorite alcoholic beverage of choice. She chose the margarita, The Perfect Patrone Margarita, and what made this even better was I’m a tequila girlie. Insert big grin here. She put in the order and gave us some time to look over the menu. They didn’t really have a lot of options that appealed to me, again because I’m not just the biggest fan of bar food. A few minutes later she came back to place our order along with bringing my drink. Honestly, for the price I was expecting it to be slightly bigger BUT the amount of alcohol they put in it, made up for the glass size.
After a couple of sips in the DJ made an announcement that they were about to start playing Music Bingo. Being it my first time there I didn’t play, I wanted to watch and see how things went. I regretted it after because every song that came on I knew it. I would have gotten BINGO the first few songs and the prize was a couple bucks. In the middle of the round our server then brought out our food, and to my surprise everything looked pretty good accept that the food wasn’t that hot, if not hot at all. Now I can make an exception if one, you’re short staffed or two it’s super busy and chaotic. No, it wasn’t busy at all and for $21 it honestly wasn’t that good. It reminded me of an elevated version of the Chili’s or Applebees Sampler.
Don’t get me wrong it was good, but food is always better when it’s hot. Again, they weren’t busy, if anything I’d expect it to be not scorching hot but at least warm from the heat lamps. Me and my brother continued to eat our food and enjoy the music they played. For me personally, I believe if I didn’t have a drink and good music, with the quality of the food, the rating would be lower than a 3.5. The margarita alone was 5 stars. Insert big grin again.
In the end it was an overall good experience and because of the margarita I’m willing to go back and give them a second chance. It may seem backwards, but I’d like to go during the busier hours to see if the experience will be better or worse.
