Many of us get into the fall season ready to make our warm drinks and sweet desserts, but what about for lunch? This soon to be fall favorite is filled spice and everything nice. Guided TikTok video available @cookingwko

Ingredients
• 1 Sourdough Loaf
• 2 Sticks of Butter
• 3oz Maple Syrup (See Recipe)
• 1lb Applewood Bacon
• 1 ea Honeycrisp / Gala Apple
• 1 Pack (10ea) Sliced White Cheddar Cheese
• Spiked Whiskey Onions (See Recipe)
• Spinach (optional)
Prepping
1. Take your two sticks and butter and make sure they are room temp. Do not heat in microwave. Mix butter and maple syrup until it’s smooth mayo consistency. Syrup will likely separate, just periodically stir. Set aside.
2. Slice sourdough loaf into equal slices. I got 7-8 sandwiches out of a loaf. Set aside.
3. Sliced apple in half and take out the core. If you’d like smaller slices, but the apple in half again. Slice apple into not thick but thin slices. They should still be firm, if they are flimsy, they are too thin. Place in a bowl and fill with water to keep from browning.
4. In a skillet cook off the bacon until desired consistency and set aside for the grease to drain.
5. In the same skillet as the bacon, pour out the bacon fat (or keep) and add in your apples (without the water). You want only want the apples to deglaze the pan, not cook them. This should take less than a minute depending on how high the heat is.
Assembling
1. Place a cast iron pan on medium heat.
2. Butter one side of each sourdough slice.
3. Once the pan is hot place the bread butter side down.
4. You can now build your sandwich: bread, cheese, bacon, apple, spinach (optional), spiked onions, more cheese, and your top slice of bread. During this process your bread should be toasted and cheese melted.
5. Give your sandwich a flip and toast the other side. Repeat assembling steps 2-4 until all of your sandwiches are built.
6. Test for toasted sides and enjoy.
